Cromford Canal (Derbyshire)

There is an official canoeing access agreement on the Cromford Canal (Derbyshire).

Access agreement exists with Derbyshire County Council; the canal has private fishing rights.

Only a small section of the canal can be paddled, and there are restrictions on the numbers of canoes on the canal at any one time.

The canal is shallow and during the summer is covered in weed.

Permission can be obtained from the High Peak Trail, Head Office at Middleton Top (01629) 823204.

A small fee will be charged for the use of the canal. Fee paying car parks.
