Chesterfield Canal (Derbyshire)

There is an official access agreement on the Chesterfield Canal (Derbyshire).

Access agreements exist with Derbyshire County Council.

Only small sections of the canal can be paddled, and there are restrictions on areas where the canal is being renovated.

The canal could be covered in pond weed during the summer months.

Permission can be obtained from the Tapton Lock information centre, Chesterfield, adjacent to the canal (01246) 433186.

A small fee will be charged for the use of the canal.
