  • 18-Jul-2010 - Wed 21st July - "How to swim in a river" night. If you have not done this then please try and come. It is very improtant for river safety. We will start at 7pm meeting at the normal car park. You will not need a boat. We will spend 15 - 30 mins discussing safety , swimming etc on the bank to start . We will then spend the next hour practicing river swimming at various points down the course. You will get very wet. If you have a wetsuit please wear it. If not try and beg or borrow one. The river is quite warm at the moment but after an hour you might get a bit chilly. We will probably be finished by 8:30. You will also need a bouyancy aid, helmet and something on your feet like wetsuit boots or trainers as you will be walking in the river and the e are plenty of sharp rocks. We will open the store at 18:45 as usual so you can get any kit you need ( only helmets and bouyancy aids availabe - we do not have wetsuits or boots)but PLEASE be ready to start by 19:00 Any problems send me an e-mail or ring me on 01629 580 687
